Dead Umbrellas

A window with a view

The floodlight from the cash and carry bathes our garden in an eerie glow. Another night, when its not raining, I will go into the garden and take some shots. (this will get rid of the glass glare as well)

Gale warnings for many areas tonight

Film

I want to get back into using my Nikon F3. Here are a few snaps to check that it’s still in working order. It works, but needs a clean – as indicated by a couple of splodges appearing in some of the photos.

Home Studio

Today I turned the bike room into a small studio, to play around with my lights. A couple of images below:

Perhaps a little too dark on the right…

With some reflector action going on

Some pink?

Skate

A trip to the skatepark with Ray. I must admit I wasn’t in the ‘zone’ and quickly realised that to get some really cool action shots I would need to a) get a lot closer (without being landed on) or b) invest in a telephoto lens… anyway, this is what I came away with…

Running home

Why won’t someone invent a perfectly formed miniature SLR camera? One you can slip into your coat pocket, or into your bumbag for when you are running! (I made do with my camera phone) This evening was my second run home from work. It’s about 6.5 miles – a perfect mid week run distance. Tonight made me wish I had started running home earlier in the year, as its now properly dark from about 6.30pm. Yet tonight, it was clear, crisp and cold so I was able to catch the sun going down. The cold light was blue and reflected beautifully off the glass clad buildings along the river. Passing by Battersea power station and across the bridge, the light turned darker and the sun set orange. I was joined by other runners, cyclists and pedestrians, stopping mid commute to catch a ‘London moment’.
